Beach front maisonettes in South Peloponnese
|
|
About this 1 - Maisonette |
Description
A newly built, beach-front private complex on the southeast part of the Peloponesse, near Neapolis. The properties are arranged in 5 groups, with a total of 19 maisonettes. They enjoy lovely views of the sea and the islands of Elafonisos and Kithira opposite, as well as open countryside views on the sides and at the rear.
The complex consists of five separate plots, from 4,000-7,000 m² with a complex of house groups built in each. One of these complexes has three houses, while the other four have four houses each. Construction of the houses and landscaping have been completed and can be delivered upon agreement.
Every house is an independent private property (with horizontal freehold) with an external, open-air area, for the exclusive use of the owner, while the rest of the land is owned in common by all the owners of the houses.
Construction
The frame of the buildings is made of reinforced concrete, complying with the latest antisesmic standards. Walls are brick; he external ones with double wedge and perimetrical flitched beam.
The buildings are coated with wall plaster painted in earth-tone colours and local stone has been used for external faetures and landscaping.
The door and window frames are made of aluminium in colours that harmonise with the traditional colours of the area.
Some buildings have a wooden tiled roof, seen from the internal attics, others have a flat slate of reinforced concrete.
Each house has an advanced air conditioning system.
Accommodation
Every house is on 3 levels, varying in size from 80 –132 m².
The lower level of the houses can be used for storage or in other ways. They have a WC as an internal stairwell connecting this level to the one above.
The entrance of the houses is situated on the second level (raised ground floor) and leads to an open plan living area and kitchen. Internal stairs connect this level to the other two.
In some of the houses, the top level is in the form of an attic, with exposed wooden roof, while in the others, there are 2 bedrooms, a bathroom, and an open space serving as a balcony for the floor.
The semi-open-air spaces are in front of the sitting rooms of the middle levels, while the spaces connecting the wings are housed, either in the traditional way of a pergola with a wattle above it, or by roof slab. In the open spaces of the floors, pergolas are being constructed.

Area Information |
| On the southeastern shore of the Gulf of Laconia, is the seaside town of Neapoli, stretching along the bay at the foot of Mountain Parnon. It is a peaceful and clean town with wonderful beaches and sparkling clean sea.
While its maritime tradition is still much in evidence, Neapoli has also grown to become a popular holiday destination with its clean beaches, a variety of cafes and bars and restaurants specialising in seafood, including the local speciality, grilled octopus.
Hydrofoils and ferries connect Neapoli with the island of Kithera and nearby Elafonisos. Hydrofoils also link Neapoli with the eastern shore of the Peloponnese and with Piraeus. Neapoli also has port facilities for visiting yachts.
How to get there
By car from Athens
By bus from Athens
By boat from Piraeus
By hydrofoil from Piraeus

By car from Kalamata airport
Sightseeing
Many of the surrounding areas are nature reserves, gathering rare species of birds and plants, such as the unique tulip Goulimi and the spring cyclamen, almost red coloured. Many birds such as silver pelicans, wild ducks and swans find shelter there.
In the sea, between Neapolis and Elafonisos, one can see the ruins of an ancient settlement. There are many Byzantine chapels and churches, many in good condition, that evoke awe to the visitor with their interior and the view over the sea.
There is a wonderful cave with stalactites and stalagmites and, in the Cape Malea area, there is a little known petrified forest with million years old trees. |
