| the village of nantlle is a very friendly place and is a little like stepping back to the time when neighbours watched out for each other. the pace of life there is very gentle indeed. there is a school for the under 11's at the other end of the village and a secondry school about 2 miles away. the sea is about 5 miles away and the mountains a few hundred yards. the potential for those that enjoy walking is absolutely endless. cycling is very popular including mountain biking in nearby beddgelert forest. five minutes walk along the road brings you to the lake just outside the village. at the far end of the valley, mount snowdon can be seen and now and again a little puff of smoke gives away the position of the steam train chugging to the summit. the view from this point is extremely popular with artist and photographers and for those that fancy it, there is a very good art school in the village. |
